Trick Or Treating: Saturday or Sunday?
Wednesday 10-27-2010 1:02pm CT
2010 is one of the rare years (well, ok, they happen every 7 or so) where Halloween falls on a Sunday night. As such a lot of towns across the Gulf Coast are scheduling their official trick-or-treating sessions on Saturday night so the kids aren't out on a school night.
Here's the list we have so far (thanks to our friends over at WKRG News 5 for helping put this together!) of towns holding their trick or treating on Saturday. If your town is not listed, Sunday's your day!
Alabama: Baldwin County: Loxley and Bay Minette Escambia County: Atmore Mobile County: Creola, Citronelle
Florida: Santa Rosa County: Milton and Gulf Breeze
Mississippi: Jackson County: Ocean Springs
Lady Antebellum Makes Me Feel Small!
Wednesday 10-06-2010 8:43am CT
Got to meet Lady Antebellum before their show at Bayfest. Charles Kelley is 6-foot-6....but even Hillary Scott made me feel small! I think she was wearing 6 inch heels...

Little River Band at the Fair!
Tuesday 09-21-2010 7:06am CT
Most of us grew up with the Little River Band. The Australian legends had a string of big hits in the late 70s and early 80s, from Lady to Cool Change (watch the live video above) to the epic It's A Long Way There. There's another half dozen hits that you'll remember, as well, and now Lite Mix 99.9 welcomes the Little River Band to the Greater Gulf State Fair. The show is Saturday, October 30th, and you can buy tickets for the fair online now!
Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey Rides Into the Hank....
Friday 08-13-2010 10:27am CT
Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey. Seriously. A monkey at a baseball game. And apparently a good luck charm for the BayBears, who won both games when Whiplash appeared. (His trainer says the home team has never lost during a Whiplash appearance!)
Missed out on meeting the monkey at the radio station.....but got a chance to say hi to him and his dog Toby......and trainer Tommy.... before the game Thursday. (I was there in an official capacity as a judge for the Band Rivalry Night.....and this was one of the perks!)

So small.....and yet he makes such a big stir! And don't let the size fool you....he's no baby. Whiplash is 24 years old!!
Here he is with me and my son Mike!

And this isn't his first "rodeo" by any means. From here, he's headed to a gig with Chuck Norris!
